Abstract

The convergence of 5G communication technology—particularly its evolved 5G-Advanced (5G-A) variant—and artificial intelligence (AI) has transitioned from theoretical exploration to tangible initial progress, with integrated solutions now being deployed across manufacturing, logistics, energy, urban governance, and maritime industries, yet the full scope of their synergistic value, innovative application paradigms, and developmental trajectories warrants systematic examination to inform strategic policymaking and industrial investment. At its core, this integration represents not a mere superposition of two technologies but a foundational paradigm shift: 5G-A provides the ultra-reliable, low-latency, and high-bandwidth connectivity fabric—delivering deterministic networks capable of 10–20 Mbps stable uplink rates and millisecond-level end-to-end latency—while AI contributes intelligent perception, autonomous decision-making, and predictive analytics, together forming an “endogenous intelligence” architecture where networks learn, adapt, and optimize in real time.
